Both Radford University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams qualified for the Big South Tournament that started Friday, April 11.

The men’s team finished the season with a four-game winning streak and finished second in the Big South behind UNC Asheville with a 4-1 conference record.

Freshmen Aditya Balsekar has led the team with singles victories and is currently on a 13-game winning streak.

Radford won the only match-up against Gardner-Webb this season, winning 6-1 on March 26.

The women’s team finished tied for second in the conference with a 4-2 record, winning their last conference match against Gardner-Webb, 5-2 last Saturday.

The following day, Senior Day was held against George Washington.

Seniors Tyler Blalock and Jeanine Acierto were honored before the game.

Radford would go on to lose the game, 4-0, with three singles matches going unfinished.

Due to a tiebreaker in favor of Presbyterian, Radford was given the third seed.

The seeding will not affect who is hosting as Radford will face Presbyterian on Saturday at 12 p.m. at a neutral site at Charlotte, North Carolina.

Radford lost in their previous match-up against Presbyterian, 5-2 on March 23.
