The Radford Women’s Lacrosse team is approaching the Big South Conference Tournament, and they are coming in hot.

On Wednesday, the Highlanders hosted Winthrop. Fans were on their toes as the clock began to run down. The teams were tied at nine, but a clutch goal by senior Lindsey Carroll sealed the deal. Radford won the game, 10-9. The first time in RU history where they defeated Winthrop in Lacrosse.

Radford was back at the SORC on a rainy Saturday, welcoming conference rivals Longwood. It was all Highlanders, as Radford never trailed in the game to win 9-7.

The Highlanders have been quite the underdogs, winning four straight games now. The team is now 3-1 against conference opponents; two of these wins were earned this week. After defeating Winthrop and Longwood, the Radford team has elevated themselves to third place in the Big South Conference.

Women’s lacrosse will face No. 2 Campbell today at 4 p.m. The two teams share the same record and hopes of making the Big South Conference Tournament.

The game against Campbell will be covered in next week’s edition.
