This Week On Campus (11/15 – 12/6)

On Wednesday, R-Space will have a novelty leather bracelets station on the Bonnie stage from 11 a.m. to three p.m. or until supplies run out. As well, there will be a Symphonic concert that night in Covington from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with free admission. And, for those who want to apply to be a residential assistant, an information session will be held; more information is available at Housing and Residential Life.

On Thursday, Spectrum, the LGBTQ+ club, will be holding a faculty-run panel and Q&A session at six p.m. in Young Hall. Also starting at six p.m., R-Space is hosting hypnotist Michael Anthony in the Bonnie; the event is free with an RU ID.

There will be no events held on Friday, as the campus is closing down for Thanksgiving Break. Students are expected to be out of their residence halls by five p.m., as will other buildings on campus such as McConnell library.

Throughout the week we return from break, additional RA information sessions will be held, for more information check out the link mentioned above.

On Monday the 27th, a History of Photography Class, as well as a student photo show, will begin in Porterfield 205. The class and gallery will run until December seventh, with the exceptions of closures on weekends and from noon until one every day.

The movie showing that week will be IT, an adaption of the classic Stephen King horror novel. The movie will run from Thursday to Saturday, with shows each night at eight p.m. in the Bonnie Auditorium.

Starting that Friday, a new gallery by the graduating students with degrees in Bachelors of Fine Arts will be hosted by the Radford Downtown Gallery. The show will run until December 12, and a reception will be held on the first from five to seven p.m..

Also on Friday, Spectrum will be holding their annual Prom from 8 PM to midnight in the Muse Banquet Hall. Admission is free with a Student ID.

On Saturday, a children’s play named “Lilly’s Purple Purse” will be having two showings at the Pridemore Playhouse at ten a.m. and two p.m.; the show will be $8 General Admission, $6 for RU Staff, $4 for children, and free for students with an RU ID. Also, that day will be a showing of the “Make We Merry” Choral Dinner and Concert, hosting a three-course meal and holiday-themed choral concert in the Covington Center; the event will be held at six p.m. and will be $35 for dinner and concert and $15 for only the concert. There will be another show at one p.m. the following day.

On Tuesday, there will be a Karaoke night in the Bonnie from eight p.m. to ten p.m., hosted by R-Space. The event is free with an RU ID.
