Registration for the Spring semester is quickly approaching for students.

Registration for the Spring semester is available from Oct. 26 – Jan. 11.

Radford split registration into six groups based on credit hours.

Students should access their MyRU portal and click the “Academics” icon to access personal course registration information. “Course Registration,” located to the right of the window, displays additional information for students.

All students should keep in mind the following steps for Spring course registration:

Consider what classes you want to take

Students should take an opportunity to explore what classes they wish to take in the fall before their registration window.

Students should also consider backup plans in the event classes are not available or at max capacity when exploring courses.

Additionally, students should consider professors, times, and locations of the classes that interest them.

Connect with your advisor and get your PIN

Undergraduate students have to have a PIN for Spring semester registration.

All undergraduate students should schedule a time to meet with their advisors to review classes, plans for the upcoming semester, major and minor declaration if desired, and any other concerns the student or advisor has before registration. Note that graduate students are not required to register with a PIN.

Know your registration start time

Undergraduate students are prioritized based on classification. Seniors will register first, followed by juniors, sophomores, then freshmen.

Undergraduate students should speak with their advisor to clarify their registration time based on this classification as honors students have priority registration.

Graduate students do not have priority registration.

Time to register

Students considered active-duty members of the United States Armed Forces will have access to priority registration but must submit appropriate documentation to be considered.

Active Duty Service Members, Reservists, National Guard students, and student Veterans should visit the University’s website for specific information and additional priority registration details.

Students who wish to overload their schedules will begin additional course registration Nov. 9.

For Radford University Carilion (RUC), courses will be available for registration Nov. 9. Students are required to be registered full time through the main campus before additional registration through RUC.

Students should also check for any holds on their accounts. Holds on student accounts will prevent or delay registration for the Spring semester.

To finally register, students should visit their MyRU portal, under the “Academics” icon, and select “Register Now” to begin registration.

This portlet will allow students to access course registration, able them to add/drop classes, and also view registration history if it is available.

Additional dates, including the start of the Spring semester, withdrawal dates, and add/drop dates, are available on through the academic calendar.

It is encouraged that students review any additional registration information on Radford University’s website and review course details before registration to prepare for the Spring semester.

For help with registration, students are encouraged to speak with their advisors, visit the Registrar’s Office website, contact the office at 540-831-5271, or come to Heth Hall between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
