The nightlife at Sharkey’s Wing and Rib Joint on Thursday nights is going to change in Radford, and Sharkey’s tells students to “stay tuned.”

For anyone who has been an avid Sharkey’s guest, bands played to the town as the kickoff to weekend fun.

Train Wreck, a classic rock/blues/funk band from Blacksburg played at Sharkey’s for their last live performance on Sept. 27.
The band stated on their Facebook fan page, “they’ve decided to end live music nights on Thursday’s so we sent it out with a bang.”

The bar was packed with students mingling over the band’s songs and families that came to enjoy dinner during the entertainment.

Leslie Paradaiso, the Sharkey’s manager acknowledged, “we are a sports bar, people want to socialize, and a band just isn’t what the students are looking for.”
So the local restaurant is on the hunt for a new Thursday night activity that will bring in more student life.
“Hulu-hooping and pogo stick competitions,” those are ideas Leslie Paradaiso shared that might bring in the student’s that want to mingle and just have fun in a safe environment.
Attracting a college crowd is not always easy but Sharkey’s has been a popular spot for Radford student’s to begin their night out.
In the meantime, Sharkey’s is open to ideas and opinions for fun, exciting, and new Thursday night activities.
