Pizza, pasta, and all things Italian – Sal’s Jr. has it all. The Italian restaurant in Fairlawn advertises New York Style Pizza, Italian Cuisine, and a wide variety of good eats.
To start your meal off right, Sal’s Jr. offers a variety of appetizers, which range from traditional bacon cheese fries to fried calamari. The best appetizer is the Sal’s Jr. sampler appetizer. For $12.49, this lets you pick three out of a list of items that includes fried mushrooms, fried zucchini, garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, wings, boneless wings, fries or onion rings.
Sal’s Jr. is one of my family’s go-to’s. We have eaten there for as long as I can remember. The restaurant is seat yourself.
Servers bring out delicious bread; sometimes, the server will bring out a seasoned oil for dipping.
The restaurant offers 21 different subs. You can also turn any sub into a wrap. Aside from subs, Sal’s has seven burger options. One dish that I have tried is baked ziti, a pasta dish with a blend of cheeses and tomato sauce, covered in a blanket of melted mozzarella. It is delicious and big enough to share, so keep that in mind for leftovers. Sal’s offers 18 other pasta dishes besides the baked ziti.
My favorite dish to order is the pepper steak with mayo, onions, peppers and melted cheese with a side of chips.
Sal’s is also kid-friendly. The kid’s menu offers pasta, grilled cheese, ham and cheese sub, turkey and cheese sub, cheesesteak, chicken tenders, and a single slice of cheese pizza.
Now, let’s talk about their famous pizzas. Sal’s Jr. makes their pizza dough fresh daily. The works pizza is so flavorful and fresh. The works pizza comes in various sizes and includes pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, ground beef, onions, green peppers, and extra cheese.
Sizes range from mini, which is 10 inches, to Sicilian, which is 16 inches. Sal’s has 21 different varieties of pizza to offer. If you are not feeling a whole pizza, you can order by the slice.
Wrapping up your meal, Sal’s Jr. offers select favorites for dessert, including the classic cannoli.
The wait staff is exceptional. They come back numerous times to check on you and give refills. From the cooks to the wait staff, everyone is friendly. The food also comes out very quickly; I’ve never had to wait long for my meal.
Sal’s is open every day of the week at varying hours, Mon–Thurs: 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m., Fri–Sat: 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m. and Sun: 12 p.m.-9 p.m.
Every time I have come to dine at Sal’s Jr., the atmosphere is warm, and the staff is exceptional.
Overall, Sal’s Jr. deserves its rating for the quality and fantastic service, I vastly recommend.
