As of the latest COVID-19 data, published on Tuesday, Sept. 22, Radford University continues to head downward in percent of positive cases.
According to the Radford University COVID-19 Dashboard, the university reports a 10.78 percentage positivity rate, down 0.61 percentage points from last weeks 11.39 percent. There were 308 campus tests performed, with 12 new positive cases.

The university averages two new daily cases this week, compared to the six new daily cases the week of Sept. 14.
Last Friday, Sept. 18, Radford University Carillon (RUC) administered 48 tests: 20 students and 28 employees. There was one positive case reported, with a positivity rate of 2.1 percent at RUC.
According to an email sent out Tuesday, Sept. 22, by President Brian O. Hemphill, “Our second mandatory testing for individuals participating in clinicals, specifically students and faculty through Carilion Clinic, included 153 administered tests with two positive results and a positivity rate of 1.3 percent.”
With the comprehensive testing that has been occurring, there have been 3,794 tests performed by Radford University Student Health Center, in partnership with PathGroups, and Carillon Clinics Surveillance Testing.
A total of 409 positive tests have been reported out of the 3,794 test given.There was one positive case reported, with a positivity rate of 2.1 percent at RUC.
In that same email, President Hemphill said, “Once again, our compliance and enforcement activities are proving to be successful. As we are beginning to approach the second half of the Fall 2020 semester, it is critically important for all Highlanders to remain committed to following Commonwealth of Virginia requirements, Radford University expectations, and public health guidance!”
