Rihanna is taking the beauty world by storm

We all know that Rihanna has been iconic ever since she released her first smash hit, “Pon de Replay,” back in 2005. Nowadays, she’s been putting in the “work, work, work” with her newest venture, Fenty Beauty.

On September 8, the long-anticipated beauty line was finally released at Sephora and the United Kingdom department store, Harvey Nichols, in addition to the Fenty Beauty website. The line includes 40 different shades of Pro Filter foundation, and six Killawatt pressed powder highlighters as well as various concealing and contouring products, a blotting powder, makeup tools and one universal lip gloss. The wide range of foundation colors and the Trophy Wife Killawatt highlighter have been the most raved about products from the makeup line for the past three weeks. On the Fenty Beauty website, the Trophy Wife highlighter is even marked as “Rihanna’s Fave.”

The most talked about aspect of Rihanna’s makeup line is the fact that she released 40 different foundation shades whereas most other companies, such as Smashbox or Too Faced, only release about 20 to 30 shades. There are ten foundations geared toward people who have dark skin tones, ten for people with tan skin tones, ten for people with medium skin tones and ten for people with light skin tones. On the Fenty Beauty website, Rihanna said, “Fenty Beauty was created for everyone: For women of all shades, personalities, attitudes, cultures, and races. I wanted everyone to feel included. That’s the real reason I made this line.” Rihanna’s primary focus for her entire makeup line is “Beauty for All.” She even created foundation colors that are specially made for people with albinism.

Fenty Beauty is 100 percent cruelty-free. The foundation is a soft matte and is long-wearing. It has a buildable, medium to the full amount of coverage and is supposed to have an instantly smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish. Her highlighters range from a subtle glow to a blinding highlight. The contour, conceal and shimmer sticks all come in a magnetic, hexagonal shaped container which makes it easier to keep them all together and the Pro Filter primer is said to smooth away pores, even out skin texture and tone, and absorb shine.

The social media makeup world has exploded with great reviews of the makeup line. One review on the Fenty Beauty website says, “You made me love my skin color… Thank you for not only creating such a lightweight, mattifying and long-lasting foundation but also serving as inspiration in telling everyone of any skin color that we are represented, and we deserve to be beautiful regardless of what shade we may be.” Well-known makeup YouTubers have also raved about how much they love the brand. Jamie Genevieve, a Scotland based YouTuber, said on her Twitter, “FOUNDATION UPDATE – I bloody love it. Worn here for 10 hours! Natural oils came through nicely. Sold, shook, whatever they say these days.”

The Fenty Beauty Instagram has already announced that a holiday collection will drop on October 13 and will include more lip products, an eyeshadow palette, and liquid eyeliner. There are even rumors buzzing around the Twitterverse about a potential skincare line coming from Rihanna. With the enormous success of Fenty Beauty, her many different music albums, and her various fashion collaborations, nothing less is expected from her holiday collection and potential skincare line. Love might be on Rihanna’s brain, but her Fenty Beauty makeup line is certainly on mine.
