Late Friday evening, a Water Main Break occurred on Grove Ave, around 10 PM, which is located across Muse Hall and the intersection of Tyler Ave.
As of 12:30 PM Saturday, water began to flow through the dorms on Radford’s campus.
“The water main has been repaired. Crews are in the process of turning water valves back on and cleaning up the debris from the break,” Stated Radford City Government on their Facebook Page around 1:00 PM Saturday.
As of Saturday morning, the shortage of water across campus continued throughout the City of Radford.
According to the Radford City Government’s Facebook Page Friday evening, many customers will experience low pressure while the repair of the main break is being done.
Many dining services on the Radford campus will be operating limited hours, while the restoration of the break is being fixed.
“Crews are still working to make the repair, many customers in the eastern end of the city should still expect low water pressure,” stated the Radford City Government’s Facebook Page around Saturday 10:00 AM.
In an email sent out to Radford students at 10:55 AM Saturday, from the Division of Finance and Administration, they stated, “The City continues to work on restoring water service to the main campus. At this time, a restoration time has not been confirmed. Beginning at 11:00 AM, bottled water will be available for pick up from Dalton Kitchen, located in Dalton Hall, and Muse Banquet Hall, located in the basement of Muse Hall. Another update will be provided once service has been restored or a restoration time is available.”
